Record of fire protection inspections of buildings requiring auxiliary fire appliances made by the New York City Fire Dept. (bulk 1903-1906 with some reports forwarded as late as 1915). Buildings inspected were in the area served by Engine Co. No. 74, roughly in the area between Central Park West and Broadway from 70th to 90th Streets. Reports mention buildings' exisiting fire protection measures such as emergency exits, axes, extinguishers, standpipes, etc. and make recommendations for further appliances needed. Includes index and list of permitees.
